Funny Facebook status

The funniest Facebook statuses and update messages!

A world of pain – only humour can help!

by Funny Facebook status - October 8th, 2009

Oh wow, what a week I’ve had! Snowed under at work, coming home and having to deal with problems with my wife (when I say ‘problems’, it’s nothing serious, it’s just that sometimes I want to be able to put my feet up and not worry too much about the state of world politics…but it seems like every tiny thing is a worry to the love of my life! Anyway…

sharing my facebook status

I logged on to Facebook tonight and I saw that someone had a really funny Facebook status, so I thought I’d share it with you guys on my blog.

Status update: My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

The funny thing about this update message is that it was written by someone who is a real EGO MANIAC! He might have put this because he thought it was witty or ironic, but honestly I’ve never met anyone who deserves this title more than this guy! So to see it written as his Facebook status was a real eye-opener! I like to think that I’m not the same as him, but I’m not sure – what do you think?

If you liked this post, why don’t you sign up to my RSS feed? Then you can get updates whenever I talk about a new funny Facebook status, or even a few emoticons or chat funnies too. It’s up to you of course, but I find it easier to read posts like this in my Google reader rather than havin to bookmark the page and come back again and again.

A great new Facebook status update!

facebook status update

So I was browsing around and I found an amazingly funny new Facebook status update! I wanted to share it with all of my friends as fast as possible, so I pasted it into my status and it was like magic – people really responded and left me loads of ‘likes’ and comments on my status! Brilliant! Let me show you it:

Facebook status: Danny ¡ǝɯıʇ ǝɯɐs ǝɥʇ ʇɐ ʞooqǝɔɐɟ ǝsn puɐ puɐʇspuɐɥ ɐ op ʎןןɐuıɟ uɐɔ

Isn’t it amazing?!?!? Basically I found out how to write my Facebook status upside down, and now I put this one in and it looks like it should be upside down (but of course it is just the weird font thing that is doing it!). I’m now looking around on Facebook for different ways to make my writing upside down on a daily basis – I think there is a lot of possibility to scare people or confuse people by continually writing upside down on Facebook chat!

I’m going to keep looking out for cool Facebook statuses, because I’ve found that instead of writing notes, the newest way to stay in touch with people is through status and then comments on it – Notes are too wieldy and boring. Anyway, I’ll keep the Facebook status updates coming another day!

Funny Facebook status

by Funny Facebook status - September 25th, 2009

Yesterday, as I was browsing the web, I stumbled across another funny Facebook status website. This one is so funny! Basically, they list a load of funny facebook statuses and then they talk about what makes them funny, what makes them special, what makes them hilarious!

funny facebook status

What I look for in a funny Facebook status and what other people look for might be slightly different, but overall I just want something that can make people laugh – a joke or some witty update message. I have noticed that this site also has a lot of clever Facebook status messages which is fine by me too, especially because I’m a fan of philosophy (by philosophy I don’t mean old men in robes and suits, preaching about loving the world – I mean funny Facebook status quotes!).

I just love it when people ‘like’ or comment on my statuses, so much so that I have decided to change my comments every three hours – that means I need to do way more research into sayings and jokes for my friends to read! It can’t be a bad idea…

Anyway, they are over on a site called www.funnyfacebookstatus.net – you should check them out too if you want to find a funny Facebook status!

The two different types of Facebook status

by Funny Facebook status - September 22nd, 2009

There are a wide range of Facebook statuses that people leave in their message feed. For the sake of this post, I’m going to ignore the boring type of Facebook status that consists of someone telling someone else that they are eating pizza while watching Die Hard 2 on television again – the ‘types’ I’m talking about are intelligent Facebook statuses.

funny facebook status ideas

1 – The funny Facebook status
The most difficult to perfect, the funny Facebook status is one which contains some sort of joke or pun, but is not obvious straight away – you don’t want to be too ‘direct’ with your joke, but you do want to make people think for a moment and then laugh out loud. That’ll keep them coming back for more!

2 – The factual Facebook status
Usually people who put ‘facts’ in their update message just copy them from wikipedia, but still we should give them a fair voice because at least they have the brains to go there and find things. Generally, people will put facts in their status if they have nothing going on in their own life (and so they just need to live vicariously through some famous people or groups).

So there you have it – the two different types of Facebook status. I’m much more in favour of the funny Facebook status, as I think that if you can make some smile for a moment while they’re going about their daily business, then it’s much more fun than trying to suprise them with how smart you are (because invariably, it’s not you being smart but some other person in history). Anyway…I’ll be back later with another funny Facebook status, so stay tuned!

What is my favourite facebook status of all time?

by Funny Facebook status - September 17th, 2009

My favourite Facebook statuses are the ones that are romantic, and are shared between two lovers. I think it’s so natural and beautiful that people share their emotions online together, and especially when their messages are there for the whole world to see…it’s magical.

romantic facebook status

Some of the greatest romantic Facebook status posts are quotes from famous poets. Some of my favourite poets probably would never have used  Facebook (it’s much too sophisticated for the arty crowd), so luckily there is another brand of romantic Facebook status which has recently become very popular – the song lyric quote!

Song lyric quotes are usually taken from some very soppy song which is extremely popular at present. I can’t think of a good example right now (because I’m not into popular music as much as I used to be), but let me try. I’m listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers right now, so I could choose the following quotes:

- This is the way I wanted it to be with you, this is the way I knew that it would be with you

Not bad right? And that was just the exact lyric that the singer was singing at the time. Again:

- All I ever wanted was your life

I think that this would be a very suitable Facebook status for someone who has just split up with their girlfriend or boyfriend (or indeed someone who has just killed their significant other!). Which ever one, you’ll now know that when you see those love Facebook statuses online…they’re definitely not legitimate!

Funny Facebook status

by Funny Facebook status - September 16th, 2009

Everyone likes a funny Facebook status – well I really love them! I’m addicted to changing my status at least five times a day, and I like all different types of Facebook status update.

I’ve narrowed them down into three different categories of status – you want to hear them? I know you do!

The first is jokes – funny jokes. I used to write updates on Facebook a lot, but every time I had to include my name in the status message. I thought this was really annoying, because I couldn’t put jokes into the box (unless I wanted to be the butt of them!). Finally, when they removed the name thing, I could use my own material – so there it went! Facebook status update jokes!

The second type of updates, after jokes, was the witty type of status messages which were similar to jokes, but just one-liners. They usually included a nice pun or gag, and people seem to really love them when they’re inside a Facebook home page feed.

The final type of status message for Facebook was given to me when I was on holiday last year – I fell in love with a Spanish bargirl and then I added her on Facebook…ever since, I used Facebook to pass her messages about how much I missed her and loved her. Romantic Facebook statuses are now my forté!

So those are my main categories – I’ll let you know when I have some more. Until then, stay on Facebook and stay cool!
